Distinguished President Barack Obama,

It is my distinct honor and pleasure, on behalf of the African Union Commission, to extend our sincere congratulations on your election as President of the United States of America. The AU Commission wishes you all the success in the execution of this high and responsible function during the coming four years.

We look forward to strengthen cooperation between the AU Member states and the people and government of the United States of America, in the interest of a peaceful and just world.

The AU Commission is committed to continued friendly relations and mutual support during the upcoming four years; a view we share with millions of African citizens who delight in your re-election.
