Tunisia: PM Voices Hope to See U.S.A. Carry on Supporting Democratic Transition

Tunis — The Prime Ministry commended, on Thursday, U.S. President Barack Obama's stands in favour of the 'Arab Spring' countries.

On the occasion of the American president's re-election for a second term, the Prime Ministry voiced hope to "see the American administration carry on supporting the Arab peoples' efforts to achieve democratic transition, fight dictatorship and bolster freedom, democracy, development, security and stability."

"A new breath should be blown into the principles that Mr. Barack Obama defended during his first presidential term, as well as his pledge to boost dialogue of religions, civilisations and peoples," the same source adds.

The Tunisian Government also wishes to see the American administration play a more active part in resolving the world economic crisis, in such a manner as to favour balance between North and South, and support the developing countries by means of boosting social peace, strengthening investment and curbing unemployment, the Prime Ministry's statement reads.
