Egypt: Jihadist Arrested in Attack on Arish Police Station

Security bodies in North Sinai arrested a Jihadist sentenced for life for attacking a police station in Arish.

Ths Jihadist (Ahmed A.) who was arrested in Sheikh Zoueid's al-Zohour area was previously sentenced for attacking an Arish police station and killing a number of policemen, a police source said.

He was transferred to Ismailia where investigation will be continued, the source added. The brother of the Jihadist is still at large, the source stated.

Egypt intensified its forces in the Sinai Peninsula after a series of attacks and the death of three security officers in an assault on November 3.
