Libya: Benghazi Car Bomb Wounds Kadhafi-Era Officer

A car bomb explosion in Benghazi on Wednesday (November 7th) wounded an officer from Libya's former regime, Libya Herald reported.

Hussam al-Raaid, a former officer of Kadhafi's internal security services, was seriously injured when an explosive device was thrown at his vehicle on the city's airport road.

Benghazi has witnessed a relentless wave of assassinations, targeting officials with links to the former regime. On Tuesday, the bullet-ridden corpse of a retired colonel was found on his farm in Benghazi. The same day, a car exploded near a police station in Benghazi, triggering a gunfight that left two policemen wounded, AFP reported.
