Kenya: Twins Named After Obama, Romney

U.S. presidential candidates Barack Obama and Mitt Romney at their second presidential debate in Ohio.

A woman who gave birth to twins at Siaya District Hospital has named them after the reelected US President Barack Obama and Republican party loser Mitt Romney.

Millicent Awuor Oduor 20, from Ndere in Siaya was on Monday booked at the maternity ward with sever labour pains and gave birth to the twins through a caesarian operation.

The bouncing twins Obama who weighed 3.5 kilos, while Romney weighed 2.4 kilos. Obama was delivered first. Hellen Raganga, the chief nurse said both infants were doing well and they were born without any complications.

The mother said she decided to name the babies after the two presidential candidates demonstrated good leadership skills during their hotly contested campaigns.

"Although it is Obama who has been reelected, both of them will assist in building the American nation," said the mother. Millicent said she hopes Obama just like his namesake.
