Kenya: I Won't Be Raila's Running Mate, Speaker - Eugene

Minister for Justice Eugene Wamalwa has denied claims that he is among eight people shortlisted to be PM Raila Odinga's running mate. He added he does not want to be the G7 alliance government Senate Speaker.

The Star yesterday published a story naming Wamalwa as one of eight politicians listed to be the premier's running mate in the general election.

"I have just arrived from Bujumbura where we had convened a meeting as presidential aspirants to discuss how to unite our country," said Wamalwa.

He made his remarks at Kenyatta Stadium in Kitale when he officially received the peace mantle from Uasin Gishu on the way to Bungoma.

Wamalwa is among presidential aspirants allied to the G7 alliance that accompanied DPM Uhuru Kenyatta to Burundi yesterday where an alliance pact was expected to be signed.
