Egypt: FM Discusses Preparations of Erdogan's Visit

Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr hailed Turkey for supporting Egypt during the revolution and bolstering its economy with various investments in various fields.

At a joint press conference on Friday 09/11/2012 with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in Ankara, Minister Amr said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would visit Egypt on November 17 at the head of a high level delegation.

Minister Amr said there is no competition between Cairo and Ankara but there is well established cooperation for the interest of the Egyptian and Turkish peoples. He noted that views of Egypt and Turkey are identical on a wide range of regional issues topped by the Syrian crisis.

For his part, Davutoglu said Turkish-Egyptian relations are ever strong and will continue to deepen putting the nation's resources to best use.
