Nigeria: Wuraola Ojo Memorial Tourney Ends Today

The 9th edition of the Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial Golf Tournament, which teed off on Monday ends Saturday at the Ikeja Golf Club.

The competition, sponsored by Toyota Nigeria Limited, has been organised annually in memory of the late Mrs. Wuraola Ojo, an ardent golf follower during her days.

According to the programme of activities for the day, the men's competition, which began on Friday, will be rounded off Saturday. The game will begin from 6:30a.m and a gala night is scheduled for 6p.m where golfers and guests will be entertained. Prizes and gift items will also be presented to winners in different categories such as Caddies, Professionals, Ladies and the Men's events.

At least 130 golfers showcased their talents in various categories of the 9th Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Tournament this year.

Topmost among the golfers include Chief Ade Ojo, Chairman of Toyota Nigeria Limited, Tunde Adelaja, Wole Oshin, Folabi Balogun, Austin Obigwe, Soji Awogbade, Gbenga Akinyombo, Akin Olawore, Chief Clem Olowokande, Louis Enahoro, Bryant Oluwole, David Edwards, Greg Iruobe, Akinboye Semowo and a host of others.

Some of the ladies golfers on parade are Candy Agu, Bukola Kupolokun, Yinka Aruwajoye and Mary Oboh. Players from different golf clubs took part in the weeklong tournament.
