Zimbabwe: Leopard Rock Club to Host Navistar Open

All roads lead to Mutare for the Navistar Leopard Rock Open golf tournament which tees off next week at Leopard Rock golf course.

The competition runs from November 16-18. The tournament would see professional golfers and top amateurs battling out in the event, for which the monetary value is not known as yet.

It would be part of Navistar Insurance company's 10-year anniversary celebrations. Stiff competition is expected, especially among amateur golfers as it carries national rankings since it is recognised by the Zimbabwe Golf Association.

Navistar regional manager, Howard Ziko, said preparations for the tournament were at an advanced stage adding that the event was also meant to nurture amateur golfers.

"We are expecting about 100 to 120 golfers and people have already started to register and we are happy with the rate at which golfers are interested to take part at the tournament and we will be celebrating our company's 10-year anniversary by giving back to the community," he said.

Hillside golf club captain, Martin Nyaundi said they would be sending their players to the tournament and he was confident that they were going to come out with a positive result.
