Angola: Nation Marks 37th Anniversary of National Independence

Luanda — The Angolans are celebrating this Sunday the 37th anniversary of their independence, proclaimed on 14 November in 1975.

It was at 12 oclock a.m of Novermber 11 that the then President of the People Movement of Angola Liberation (MPLA) and head of state, António Agostinho Neto proclaimed the country's independence.

"On behalf of the Angolan people, the MPLA central committee, proclaims solemnly before Africa and the world the independence of Angola", announced the first President of Angola.
