South Africa/Zambia: Sangweni, Manyisa Withdrawn From Bafana Squad

Pretoria — The Orlando Pirates duo of Oupa Manyisa and defender Siyabonga Sangweni have been withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad to face Zambia in the Nelson Mandela Challenge on Wednesday at Soccer City.

Sangweni missed his club's League clash against Free State Stars on Saturday, after he was withdrawn from the starting line-up following complaints of a knee pain during the warm-up session.

Midfielder Manyisa was substituted in the same match after sustaining a thigh injury in the second half.

Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has called up Kaizer Chiefs defender Siboniso Gaxa, and Manyisa will not be replaced as the coach believes he has enough cover in the midfield.

The Zambians have arrived in South Africa on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is at 8pm.
