Nigeria: Boy Drowns in Osun River

Osogbo — Tragedy struck on Saturday when a 10-year-old boy, Mathew Samuel drowned in the Asejire River along Ibadan express way in Osun state.

Daily Trust correspondent gathered that Mathew and his two elder brothers went to the river to catch fish without the knowledge of their parents.

In the process, Mathew mistakenly fell from the rock where he was standing and landed in the river and was submerged to death before his brothers could rescue him.

The Police Public Relation Officer for Osun state command, DSP Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident.
