Angola: Zaire Governor for Reinforcement of Partnership With Churches

Mbanza Kongo — The governor of the northern Zaire province, José Joanes André, said on Sunday in Mbanza Kongo city that the executive will favour the open and continuous dialogue with churches, having into account their role in the elevation of the population's civic moral.

The official said so during the thanksgiving ecumenic cult, organised by the local secretary of the christian churches council in Angola (CICA), to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the national independence, marked on 11 November.

Joanes André highlighted the mission of the religious congregations in the retrieval of moral and civic values.

Speaking about 11 November, the governor said that it is date that make proud all Angolans nationwide and it serves to unite all citizens of this country, regardless their religion and political party membership.
