Angola: Congolese Diplomat Stresses Importance of National Independence

Cabinda — The vice-consul general of Republic of Congo in the northern Cabinda province, Angola, Otsenguet Irchambot, considered the national independence (November 11) an important and historic date for all Angolans and foreign citizens residing in Angola.

"We must all participate worthily in this party for being a date with relevant meaning in the lives of everyone living in this country," he told Angop Sunday.

"This date or day freed Angola from the Portuguese colonial regime, resulting from the struggle for freedom by determined men, who defeated the colonial regime, giving freedom to their people," he said.

The diplomat stressed the actions of the Angolan government, regarding the implementation of development programmes, with projects and actions of social, economic and political stabilization to the welfare of the Angolan population.

Otsenguet Irchambot also highlighted the excellent ties between the two States, people and Statesmen, that under the principles of existing agreements, work together for the well-being of the two societies.
