Angola: Economy Minister Happy With Population's Assistance Programme

Cubal — The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Afonso Pedro Canga, considered on Friday in Cubal district, central Benguela province, satisfactory the implementation of the programme for the food assistance to families affected by the drought that hit the region.

The official said so to the press at the end of His visit to Cubal district.

The minister said that he is happy with the high level of implementation of the referred programme, provided that the population lost their agricultural products and goods such as oxen, resulting from the drought that devastated all cultures launched in the land during the last agricultural campaign.

Without disclosing the number of affected people by this calamity, Afonso Canga said that with the delivery of foodstuff, the peasants are happier and determined to continue with their activities in this agricultural campaign.

The minister returned to Luanda on Friday, after having worked during two days in the districts of Benguela, Catumbela, Ganda, Cubal and Caimbambo, where learnt about the situation of His sector.
