Zimbabwe: Gold Panner Robbed While Relieving Herself

A SUSPECTED illegal gold panner from Esigodini, Matabeleland South, was recently robbed of R10 000 and a Nokia cellphone while relieving herself in the bush. The incident occurred at around 7am last Friday near Zuma Mine. Ulvis Gandijana was spotted by the assailants while relieving herself. The two suspects pounced on her and demanded that she hands over her cellphone and money.

She at first denied that she had money on her and the robbers struck her with a log.

They then grabbed her cellphone and wallet containing R10 000.

The pair fled the scene and the matter was reported to the police.
