Rwanda: Clubs On Alert Amid Mckenzie Quit Rumors

Karim 'McKenzie' Nizigiyimana is growing increasingly frustrated at Rayon's failure to compensate him after being robbed of Frw600,000 by one of the club's employees.

It is said that the Rayon Sport captain asked one of the club's employees to help him bank Frw600,000 only for the latter to run off with the huge amount.

The midfielder immediately sought for compensation from the club only to be told that the club was not compelled to reimburse him because it was a private matter.

"That is a private matter between two individuals and we are not in any way obliged to repay the player," the club chairman Abdullah Murenzi stated.

McKenzie, who is free to negotiate with other clubs at the end of the season, is perplexed by the lack of urgency with which the matter has been addressed and is already threatening to walk out on the club.

The Burundian international, has been a key figure for the club in midfield and his departure will surely be a big loss for the new club coach Gomes da Rosa who has a daunting task of winning either the Primus League or Peace Cup this season.
