Nigeria: FG Targets Two Million Houses Annually

The Federal Government plans to achieve 2 million houses every year before 2020 to eradicate the 17 million deficits in the housing sector. Speaking at the Presidential stakeholders retreat on housing and urban development held at the State House Abuja yesterday, President Goodluck Jonathan said it has become imperative for government provide houses for the poor and low income earners in the country.

In her speech earlier, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ms. Amal Pepple, said the sector had faced neglect over the years leading to the wide gap in housing needs in the country.
