Africa: FM Lauds NGOs Important Role in Developing Inter-African Relations

Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr underlined on Monday 12/11/2012 the importance of the civil society's role in bolstering popular relations between Egypt and the African continent countries.

In a meeting on Sunday 11/12/2012 with a delegation grouping 13 Egyptian civil society organizations working in Africa, Amr said the ministry is keen on coordinating official channels with popular initiatives to achieve integration between Egypt and the African countries.

He said the ministry is ready to offer all possible support to NGOs in Africa either through embassies in the African countries or through the Technical Cooperation Fund with Africa.

The two-hour meeting tackled the NGOs-run projects that need follow-up from the State, especially in the health and educational domains, in addition to setting up small and medium-sized projects to boost development in the African continent.
