The Suntreso (Sofoline) District Police Command has taken delivery of a set of office furniture for the District Commander's office, courtesy of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama, Mrs. Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
The gesture was in fulfillment of a promise by the MP to equip the Commander's office with a brand new set of furniture during a previous visit there.
Superintendent Cosmos Afena Damoah, the District Commander, received the set of furniture which cost GHÂÂ¢1,800.
He commended the MP for complementing the efforts of government to resource his outfit, and said he was inspired by such assistance to give off his best.
Mrs. Dapaah gave the assurance that she would consider providing other needs of the District Police Command.
The MP has also presented 150 pieces of road lamps, estimated to cost GHÂÂ¢24,000 to the eight electoral areas in her constituency to help light the streets, and help reduce the menace of robbery under the cover of darkness.
The beneficiary electoral areas are, Bantama, Ohwim Amanfrom, Abrepo Junction, North Suntreso, Adoato/Kokoso, Adomanu, Bohyen Ampaabame, and Abrepo Mpatasie.
Michael Kwabena Antwi, alias American man, Assembly Member for Bantama, thanked the MP for her support, and hoped the lamps would contribute to the reduction of crime in the constituency.
Meanwhile, the Bantama MP has presented a set of cutlery, donated by a resident of London, Mrs. Susana Ntim, in support of a GHÂÂ¢120,000 staff canteen built by the Member of Parliament for Bantama, and funded through the MP's share of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Fund for the Suntreso Government Hospital.
Mrs. Dapaah has also donated a further GHÂÂ¢30,000 to fund the completion of a Conference Hall project for continuing medical educational purposes, general meetings and conferences at the hospital.
The Hospital Administrator, Mr. Gyamfi Yeboah, received the cutlery on behalf of the management and staff of the hospital.
In another development, Mrs. Dapaah has presented a GHÂÂ¢3,500 motorbike to Mr. Awudu Haruna Sunrise, chairman of the Three Northern Region Settler Outreach group, to facilitate campaigns in the region.
