Two persons in the names of Mbemba Camara and Badou Manjang on Thursday appeared before the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Sheriff Tabally, for the offence of housebreaking and theft, all contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.
The particulars of the offence on count one stated that on the 5th November 2012 at Bakau Mamakoto in the Kanifing Municipality, the two accused persons broke into the house of David Peter Tungate, intent to commit a felony therein wit stealing, thereby committed an offence.
On count two, it stated that on the same date and time in the Kanifing Municipality, the two accused persons broke into the house of the said David Peter Tungate and stole the following items: cash of D53, 000 and 800 pounds equivalent to D30, 400; total amount being D83, 400, being the property of David Peter Tungate and Jainaba Bojang, thereby committed an offence. Both accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges and were however granted bail in the sum of D200, 000 with one Gambian surety each.
Hearing continues on 12th November 2012. Chief Inspector Jammeh stood for the IGP.
