Tunisia: U.S. General Carter F. Ham Debates in Tunis Means to Fight Against Extremist Forces

Tunis — General Carter F. Ham, Head of the US Africa Command, affirmed Monday at a round table meeting with the Tunisian media at the premises of the US Embassy in Tunis, that the best way to cope with extremist forces is to reinforce security and military systems in the Arab zone to protect oneself against this regional threat.

He said he had discussed with his counterparts in the Defence Ministry about the issue of frontier zones security and means to fight against extremist forces in the arab region, notably "Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb" (AQMI).
