SuperSport has distanced itself from the swirling rumours they have withdrawn from broadcasting local league matches.

This comes in the wake of a bitter power struggle between local football body Fufa and the Uganda Super League (USL), with which SuperSport signed a $5m five-year deal to sponsor and broadcast domestic football league matches

In a statement released yesterday evening, the SuperSport management says: "As a football rights holder in Uganda, SuperSport is concerned about administrative problems affecting Ugandan football," reads part of the statement.

"We are monitoring the situation carefully and considering our position. SuperSport will not comment publicly on speculation in that regard for various reasons, including legal issues."
