Tunisia: 'If It Turns Out to Risky, Exploitation of Shale Gas Will Immediately Be Abandoned,' Says Industry Minister

Tunis — "For the time being, the Ministry is just attempting to have a better idea of shale gas and get to know about the experiences carried out across the world in this field. We are not in a hurry to exploit it," said Industry Ministry Mohamed Lamine Chakhari in a statement to the media on Tuesday. "If the exploitation of this energy represents the least risk to the Tunisians, we will abandon it at once," he affirmed.
