Port Harcourt — The Action Congress of Nigeria in rivers state has called for the cancellation of Saturday's public session in Kahna/Gokana federal constituency on the ground that the forum does not represent the consensus of the people.
The party in a press statement signed by its publicity secretary, Jerry Nadeem said the outcome of the session should be discarded because it does not reflect the genuine interest of Bori people.
The party insists that another review session is imperative to make room for a more representative position of all the Ogonis.
It faulted the Bori constitution review session organized by the member representing Khana/Gokana federal constituency, Mr. Morris Poronem, on grounds of "scanty and inadequate attendance".
According to the party, the main stakeholders in Khana and Gokana local government areas such as the chairmen, councilors, recognized traditional rulers, youth representatives, human rights acti-vists, intellectuals, students, serving and former lawmakers and women groups were denied participation in the exercise due to poor publicity.
