One Basiru Bah, a native of Bakoteh was on November 8th, 2012 arraigned before the Bundung Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Landing M. Sanneh. The accused is charged with two counts of the criminal offences, ranging from rash and negligent act causing death and unlicensed driving, both contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The particulars of the offence on count one stated that on 2nd day of November at Bakoteh between the hours of 12:00pm to 1:00pm, the accused drove a motor vehicle with registration no BJL 9031 G in a rash and negligent act, which caused the death of one Isatou Singhateh, a 11-year-old girl, thereby committed an offence.

On count two, the particulars of offence stated that on the same date and place, the accused person drove a motor vehicle with registered no BJL 9031 G, without a driver's license, thereby committed an offense. The accused however pleaded not guilty and the prosecutor handling the case, Sgt. 265 Trawally applied for a short adjournment to call his witnesses in court at the next adjourned date.

Meanwhile the accused was granted bail in the sum of D100, 000 with two Gambian sureties.
