Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayyeb urged on Tuesday 13/11/2012 the international community to shoulder its responsibility towards the residents of the Gaza Strip.

In a released statement, he called for deterring Israel, which is committing savage acts against innocent civilians in the coastal enclave.

He also denounced Israel's shelling of defenseless Palestinian civilians earlier in the day.
