Kenya: South Africa's Zonke for Nairobi Concert

This month's edition of the Tusker Malt Lager 100 club will feature Zonke, a South African musician and songwriter. She will be the star attraction at the November 22 event set for Nairobi Arboretum followed by a Kampala show the following day.

Zonke's life in the limelight began when she started doing sessions with Bongo Maffin, being back-up as well as standing in for Thandiswa sometimes.

Her first solo album, Solitary, was recorded and released in Europe in 2004. Her most recent album, Life, Love 'n Music, was very successful and earned her many plaudits. Her music uses various styles like Afro-pop, house and folk music. "What I bring on the table is new and exclusively mine. For me to go and seek a recording deal, I need to be sure of my talent and my creativity, which I am certain that I have." - Zonke

She is known for her hit singles like Ina Ethe and Nameless and she has already made her mark internationally include a collaboration with house music guru Frank Roger on his single All in the Way.
