Angola: U.S. and Nation's Officials Debate Matters of Bilateral Interest

Luanda — US deputy State Secretary of Treasury Department, Neal Wollin, on Wednesday met with the Ministers of Finance and oil and governor of the National Reserve Bank (BNA), Carlos Lopes, José Maria Botelho Vasconcelos and José Massano Junior, respectively.

He considered the meetings to be very fruitful with regard to the plan for the economy of both countries, under the bilateral co-operation.

Speaking to the press, Neal Wolin said that it was analysed with the BNA official the Angolan financial stand and how US government may assist the African country, as well as the possibility of including staff in the financial system and technical assistance to Angola in this area.

The US official is in Angola since Tuesday to debate how Angola has been using the revenues from the natural resources for its sustainable development and how it meets its social needs.
