Algeria, Italy Reaffirm Sahrawi People Right to Self-Determination

Algiers — Algeria and Italy reaffirmed Wednesday in Algiers the right of Sahrawi people to self-determination in conformity with the international legality and to the UN resolutions.

"The two parties reaffirmed their support to UN efforts in the underway negotiations process to reach just, final and mutually acceptable solution to Western Sahara conflict as part of the international legality and the UN pertinent resolutions which endorse the Sahrawi people right to self-determination," read the final joint statement sanctioning the works of the second Algerian-Italian summit.

They renewed their "support to the efforts of UN Special Envoy for Western Sahara (Christopher Ross)," expressing their readiness to collaborate with UN in view to finding final solution to this issue."
