Luanda — One dead and a person missing is the provisional assessment of the heavy rain that hit on Wednesday dawn the city of Luanda.

This was said to Angop on Thursday by the provincial commander of the National Civil Protection and Fire Services (SNPCB), Tito Manuel.

A child aged four died in the district of Viana, following the collapse of a wall of a house, whereas an adult of 32 years is missing in the urban district of Maianga, presumably driven by the water.

Tito Manuel stressed that the rain flooded 166 houses, especially in the urban districts of Rangel and Kamuxiba ward in Samba.

Roads, schools, houses, bridges and various houses in the district of Cacuaco, Cazenga, Viana, Belas and Luanda were also flooded.
