Morocco: Monti for Just and Lasting Solution to the Western Sahara Conflict

Algiers — The President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Mario Monti, has expressed his hope that the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross lead to a just and lasting solution to the conflict .

In an interview with Algerian newspaper Al Khabar, Monti expressed the hope that the " efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General, Mr. Christopher Ross will contribute to the resumption of negotiations between Morocco and the Polisario Front under the UN auspices, as the only means to achieve a just and lasting settlement of the conflict. "

Monti started Wednesday an official visit to Algeria, at the invitation of the Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
