Kenya will be among the teams seeking to progress to global qualifiers for the 2014 ICC Womens World Twenty20 at next months Africa Women T20 World Cup qualifiers in Tanzania.
The ladies senior national squad will travel to Tanzania with the aim of securing one of the two ICC world Twenty20 qualifying spots available. Six teams will be taking part in the event that is being held in the continent for the first time.
The teams are hosts Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. Kenya qualified for the qualifiers in December last year in Uganda.
To prepare for the event Kenya were due to host Uganda who won the December event but financial constraints at Cricket Kenya forced a last minute cancellation of the tour.
However coach Dun Okinyo said as much as the cancellation of the tour will affect his training plans, it will not affect the morale of the players in the camp.
