RESIDENTS of Loita in Narok South have appealed to the government to repair the Narok-Loita road. Addressing the press in Narok town yesterday, Michael ole Uka said the 130km stretch of the road is impassable in the rainy season.
Uka said farmers are unable to take their produce to the market during the rainy season. "The roads should be improved as a matter of priority. It is the only route to the market for our farm produce," said Uka.
He said Prime Minister Raila Odinga assured the residents that the road will be repaired when he visited the area in 2010. Uka said livestock traders have incurred huge losses in ferrying their livestock to the market.
"As livestock traders, we have incurred losses when we want ferry the stock to the Kenya Meat Commission in Ngong," Uka said.
