Tanzania: Shimmuta Games Fixture Released

DEFENDING football champions Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) will clash against University of Dodoma (UDOM) in the opening match of the SHIMMUTA Games scheduled to kick-off at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma on November 24, 2012.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will entertain Open University of Tanzania (OUT) in a netball encounter the same day. According to the statement released by SHIMMUTA Secretary General, Award Safari in Dar es Salaam, the opening ceremony of the annual championship will be graced by the Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Rehema Nchimbi. Safari said at least 18 teams from institutions, parastatal and non-parastatal organizations in the country have confirmed their participation to the games.

He named teams that have so far confirmed as Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC), Tanzania Tobacco Processing Limited (TTPL), Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), National Environmental Management Council (NEMC), Ardhi University, Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), Mzinga Corporation, Muhimbili University of Allied Sciences (MUHAS), and Medical Stores Department (MSD).

Others are Mzumbe University, Moshi University College of Cooperatives and Business Studies (MUCcoBs), Institute of Rural and Development Planning (IRDP), Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and College of Business Education (CBE). Games to be competed for will be football, netball, athletics, tug of war, basketball, volleyball, playing cards, sack race, draft, pool table and bao.

Safari requested all teams which have confirmed their participation to report in Dodoma on November 22, saying the following day SHIMMUTA officials will hold meeting with chairmen and secretaries of the participating teams.
