Jos — The National Chairman, Council of Ulama of Jama'atul Izalatul Bidia Wa Ikamatus Sunnah, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir said rotation of power from one part of the country to another is undemocratic under a true and practical system of modern democratic culture.

Sheikh Jingir who stated this in a media briefing in Jos said rotation of office of the president or governor from any part of the country or state would not facilitate the growth of the system in Nigeria.

He also frowned at agitation for state police which he said would not address the present security problems but would rather destabilize the country as some governors will use it to achieve their political goals as well as victimize opponents which would end up overheating the polity.

Sheikh Jingir added that he supported the removal of immunity clause of executive officers as well as financial autonomy of state houses of assembly as they have now become robber stamp of governors.
