Gambia: Alleged Assailant Docked

One Abdoulie Bah was on Wednesday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Bojang. The accused person is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm contrary to Section 228 of the Criminal Code Cap 10:01 Vol III, Laws of The Gambia 2009.

The particulars of offence revealed that on or about the 13th October 2012 at Westfield in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused unlawfully assaulted one Karim Jallow by hitting on his left ear causing him injuries, thereby committed an offence.

When the facts of the case was read to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty. The accused person was subsequently granted bail in the sum of D30, 000 with one Gambian surety who should deposit an ID card and deposed to a means of affidavit.

The case was adjourned to the 28th November 2012 for continuation of hearing.
