One Mustapha Njie, a native of Tallinding was on Wednesday arraigned before Magistrate Landing M. Sanneh of the Bundung Magistrates' Court. The accused is charged with two counts; threatening violence and stealing, both contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.
The particulars of offence indicated that the accused sometime in the month of March 2011 at Tallinding in the Kanifing Municipality unlawfully threatened to kill one Kaddy Njie with a knife, thereby committed an offence.
While on count two, the particulars stated that the accused person sometime in the month of March 2011 at Tallinding in the Kanifing Municipality, stole the amount of D650 from one Kaddy Njie and Fatou Sanyang, thereby committed an offence.
The accused however pleaded not guilty and the prosecutor handling the case Cpl. Barry applied for a short adjournment to call his witness to testify. Meanwhile the accused was however granted bail in the sum of D75, 000 with one Gambian surety. The case was adjourned for hearing.
