Cameroon: Shop Burglers Caught Red-handed

Police in Douala has arrested two burglars as they squeezed into a shop at Ndokoti, behind the Tradex petrol station.

Achille Minka and Rich Eitee Mpai Ottou were taken into custody in the night of Monday, November 12. The two, with the help of a nail cutter, broke into an electronic shop and were about transporting their booty.

Inspector Robert Daouda of the Rapid Intervention Unit and his team made a timely arrival and nabbed the burglars. The two were whisked off into custody at the Central Police Station N°2 in Logbaba. They were caught with a carpet, a DVD player, a musical set, computer monitor and speakers, among others, ready to be transported.

Investigations proved that the burglars had also broken into a bar opposite the shop that same night. An evaluation of all lost items is still to be made.
