Egypt: Awqaf Minister Lauds Morsi Decision to Withdraw Egypt Ambassador to Israel

Awqaf Minister Talaat Afifi and General Secretary of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Salah Sultan on Thursday 15/11/2012 lauded President Mohamed Morsi's decision to withdraw Egypt's ambassador to Israel in protest against brazen Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip.

They urged the Arab League to announce the withdrawal of the Arab Peace Initiative and to activate a joint Arab defense agreement.

In a joint statement, the two officials denounced the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, calling on the Palestinian resistance groups to unite and launch painful strikes on the Zionist enemy.

They also urged Morsi to keep his promises that he will not allow attacking Palestinian lands and killing Palestinians.
