Kenya: College Students Sent Home After Boycott

Students of Rwika Institute of Science and Technology in Mbeere South have been sent home after boycotting lectures for two days.

The students were protesting against an increase on school fees increase among other issues. Anti riot police from Kiritiri police station led by the Mbeere South police boss Bernstein Shari stood guard as the students left the premises.

The police were called in after the students refused to resume studies on Wednesday evening after storming out of the college in the morning. The college had gone on strike a few weeks ago complaining of poorly-cooked meals.
