Kenya: Safari Fashion Week Dazzles

Wednesday evening was the day for fashion lovers as the Association of Fashion Designers AFAD (K) hosted this year's Safari Fashion Week at the Carnivore grounds.

Following its successful launch in November last year, the event attracted people from far and wide. The platform was created to contribute positively to fashion by expanding knowledge in business amongst the fashion designers.

It also aims to promote African fashion and its textile products. The show showcases and promotes talent and creativity amongst the youth through the emerging young designers.

This year's theme dubbed 'Raw Energy' saw the designs from Peggy Onyango, Sally Karago, Betty Vanetti, Liz Njoroge and Ponna&Poonam on the Safari catwalk. Emerging designers and students also took to the stage with their collections.

Among those who attended the function was Israel ambassador Gil Haskel with his wife Dalit, chief registrar of the judiciary Gladys Shollei with her daughter Laika Jeroni and prominent lawyers husband and wife Phillip and Agnes Murgor.
