Kenya: Kanga Student Charged With Exam Cheating

A KCSE candidate at Kanga High School has been charged by a Rongo court with cheating in the exams. Leakey Apuko was accused of being in possession of unauthorised information during the Chemistry Paper One exams.

Apuko denied the charge and was released on a Sh10, 000 bond and a surety of Sh30,000 for him to continue sitting the exam.During the last national examinations, Kanga High School scored a mean score of 9.4 points in last year's KCSE.

The school was however not ranked with other schools because one of its students was found cheating. Contacted, the school's principal Michael Ogweno dismissed the matter saying the current 246 candidates are well prepared for the exams.
