South Africa: Mabuza Appointed Telkom Chairperson

Pretoria — Telkom has announced the appointment of Jabulane Albert Mabuza as chairperson of the company with immediate effect.

Mabuza, who was earlier this week appointed to the board as a non-executive director, replaces Lazarus Zim, who stepped down on October 24 at the conclusion of the Telkom Annual General Meeting.

Mabuza was appointed to the board along with Kholeka Mzondeki. The appointments came on the heels of last week's notification of group chief executive officer Nombulelo Moholi's intention to resign before the end of her contract period.

Neo Phakama Dongwana informed the board of her resignation as director, effective 2 November 2012.
