President Mahama, who at Dormaa Ahenkro as part of his four-day campaign tour of the Brong Ahafo Region, told Journalists that although he was aware of his admission in hospital, little did he know it could lead to his death.

He said the government would accord the former Vice President all state courtesies and that Mr Newman Mantey, the Chief of Staff, was liaising with the family and the leadership of the New Patriotic Party for funeral arrangements.

The President on behalf of government and people of Ghana expressed condolence to the family, widow and the NPP.
