Ghana: Former VP Under Kufuor Dies At 66

Accra — Former Vice- President of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama is dead. He passed on at 9A.M on Friday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. He was 66 years old.

Aliu Mahama, who served as Vice-President under President John Kufuor from January 7, 2001 to January 7, 2009 had a long battle with cancer. He finally bowed to the wicked hands of death on Friday.

Communications' Minister, Alhaji Haruna Idrissu, who made an official announcement on behalf of government, said that President John Dramani Mahama had declared a national mourning in honour of the former Vice-President.
