Nigeria: Auto Crashes Claim 15 in Kogi in October

Lokoja — Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Muhammed Garba has disclosed that 15 deaths were recorded from various auto crashes across Kogi State in October, 2012.

The Sector Commander who stated this yesterday in Lokoja said a total of 173 passengers were involved in the 42 accidents that happened across the state in the month under review.

According to him, 15 people died, 157 were injured, while others escaped unhurt. He said the accidents were as a result of over speeding, dangerous driving as well as break failure among others.

Muhammed however warned motorists to desist from reckless driving, especially now that Christmas period is at hand so as to stay alive.
