Nigeria: 'Miss Big World Boosted My Confidence'

Olufemi Felicia Adu emerged winner at the 'Miss Big World' competition. The mass communication graduate of the Institute of Management Technology, Enugu spoke to journalists on winning the completion.

How did you know about the competition?

Well, I was surfing the internet for plus-size pageants, when I saw the advert. I paid for the form and registered. I was thinking about being the next plus-size queen when I bought the form.

Did you have any resistance from your family?

My dad is late, so it's just my mum. When I told her about the pageant, she encouraged me to go for it

What was the experience like in the house with other contenders?

I had a wonderful time in the house. I met girls from different homes, we had people talk to us about self esteem and confidence, it was a great experience for me. I learnt a lot of things which will remain with me forever.

Was it about growing that may have influenced your experience preparing for 'Miss Big World?

What do you intend to do with your prize?

I want to help other plus-size girls like build there confidence and be comfortable in their body, nd I'll also want to help young girls go to school.
