Egypt: Morsi Orders Providing All Help to Families of Assiut Accident Victims

President Mohamed Morsi ordered all executive bodies to provide all help to families of pupils who were killed on Saturday when a train rammed into their school bus in Assiut.

A presidential statement said that the president entrusted Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, Defense and Military Production Minister Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, Health Minister Mohamed Moustafa Hamid and Assiut Governor Yehia Kishk and all executive bodies to exert utmost efforts to help the families of the victims.

Morsi also offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the statement added.

The Armed Forces stand ready to airlift the injured, if there is a need to receive treatment in Cairo, added the statement.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Hesham Qandil ordered referring all those responsible for the accident to investigations.

Presidential spokesman Yasser Ali said that President Morsi accepted the resignation of Transport Minister Rashad el-Metini.
