Kenya: Five Nabbed With Snake Skin

Police in Kirinyaga have found eight python skins worth Sh1.2 million shillings.

Kirinyaga East Police boss Hamisi Mambeya said they arrested five people with the 82.5 feet (25.15 metres) of skins.

The suspects were arrested at Samson corner on the Embu-Mwea highway by police posed as buyers.

They had packed the skins in a cigarettte carton box.

Mambeya said they have launched investigations with the Kenya Wildlife Service at Kamiigua, the suspect's home.

"No one is supposed to be in possession of any animal product without license," he said.
